Assistant General Manager - 17 West Restaurant

17 West is a premiere American Bistro in New Bremen, Ohio. This unique dining experience features a full lunch and dinner menu, daily specials, a wide selection of cocktails and live entertainment. With an upscale, contemporary menu and a casual atmosphere, the restaurant offers options for business lunches, an evening out and everything in between.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Assist the General Manager (GM) in the daily operations of both the restaurant and catering business.
  • Address customer complaints and problems effectively and courteously on an as needed basis.  Use tact and good judgment when dealing with difficult guests.  Respond to their needs with patience and courtesy.
  • Hold team accountable of steps of service.  Manage seating of restaurant, wait list, server stations and table turning.  Communicate with the Chef/Kitchen business levels during shift.  Maintain restaurant operations and supplies.
  • Serve as acting supervisor and main point of contact when GM is not available.  Interview, supervise, train and schedule staff.  Monitor employees’ job performance and personal presentation and discuss any concerns with associate.  Work with management and HR on developing and implementing policies and work standards.  
  • Keep the restaurant's website and menus updated and informative.  Work with Manager on any website and advertisement issues. Oversee e-mail campaigns and promotions

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Less than 2 years' related experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age to order and serve alcoholic beverages 
  • Three to five years’ polished dining management experience.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, patient, and conscientious. The ability to follow established procedures and processes very closely. Have the ability to make decisions cautiously and to the standards of the restaurant. 
  • Communication is factual, polite, and professional in nature.
