Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Menu and Food Preparation - Assist in the preparation of food and cooking for the restaurant and Company catering functions.  Suggest ideas for new recipes and seasonal menu items. Able to rotate among the grill, sauté, fry and cold foods, pantry stations.  Responsible for prepping stations at the beginning of each rotation and are responsible for ensuring there are enough supplies to meet the anticipated demand. Must work quickly and efficiently to turn the dishes out. Clean-up and station resetting. 
  • Food Expeditor - Set-up the expo station to include all hot and cold food items, plate ware, food ingredients, garnishes and supply items needed for effective operation of the station. Must work quickly and efficiently to expedite the dishes. Maintain a clean and orderly workstation. Reports any problems or discrepancies to the Chef on a timely basis.  Communicate and coordinate with the line cooks and servers to ensure that all food product is prepared and ready for service at the correct time.
  • Quality and Health / Safety Regulations - Ensure food quality throughout the entire dining room and catering events.  Follow all health and safety regulations.  Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, prep area and equipment.  Practices positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts.
  • Miscellaneous - Assist in unloading and putting away product. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Compensation: Starting at $16.64/hr, up to $19.96/hr

 

Qualifications:
 

  • Less than 2 years related experience required.
  • Ability to work variable hours that may include daytime, evenings, weekends (no Sundays), and holidays.
  • Candidates 18 years or older preferred.
  • Restaurant experience in grill, sauté, fry, and cold food stations preferred.
  • Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills as well as good personal hygiene.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure at a consistent and steady pace for extended time periods, and ability to closely follow established procedures.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, stand for long periods of time, and move from area to area in the kitchen.
  • Ability to handle exposure to wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noises.
