Job Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the gathering, analysis and interpretation of a wide variety of Materials Planning and Logistics data to be used by the Corporate Materials and Logistics function.  Work closely with the Financial Department to assure that data is consistent with Company accounting policies and practices.  Data includes information on Inventories, Materials Planning/Forecasting and Schedule Performance, Domestic and International Logistics performance metrics.  This information will be developed into a set of appropriate measurements.  Responsible for coordinating preparation and monitoring of the Materials and Logistics budgets. This position reports to a department manager and has no direct reports
  • Materials and Logistics Cost Management Measures - Develop and become the Materials and Logistics “go to” person for definition, analysis and monitoring of Materials Planning and Logistics Cost measurements.  Measurements for Inventory Carrying Costs (onsite and in transit), Obsolescence Cost Exposure, Logistics Expenses (Domestic and International) by Location and Mode, Fuel Costs,  Costs per Mile are examples of what is required to achieve a balanced comprehensive Materials and Logistics Cost measurement scheme.  Provide insight into interpretation of the numbers.  Assist in the preparation and of Logistics’ Request for Quotation proposals, and assist in the analysis of the proposal results.
  • Materials and Logistics Operations Measures - Develop and become the Materials and Logistics “go to” person for definition, analysis and monitoring of other important measurements like Inventory Turns (SCI and non-SCI, by plant location, Domestic and International), On-Time Deliveries by Supplier by Plant, Balance Out Exposures, Export Metrics (volume and location) etc, as required to achieve a balanced comprehensive Materials and Logistics Measurement scheme.  Provide insight into the interpretation of the numbers.
  • Materials and Logistics Data Collection & Analysis - Extract necessary data from Company internal and external supplier/carrier systems for use in management measures.  Analyze and provide interpretation of Materials and Logistics data for management decision making.  Assist various levels of management in special project reviews, both domestic and international, as needed.
  • Measurement & Special Program Identification and Development - Identify, develop, refine, and automate the measurements necessary to manage Materials Management and Logistics operations.  Communicate and train others on use and application as necessary.  Identify, develop, refine, and automate special programs to enhance lean activities and operations within Materials Management and Logistics operations.
  • Manufacturing Review Meeting - Prepare reports for monthly Manufacturing review meeting and present results.
  • Materials Planning and Logistics Budget - Coordinate the activities of the Materials Planning and Logistics operations in preparation and subsequent monitoring of the annual operation budget.  Assure the consistency among the various applicable groups and with Company accounting policies and practices.




  • Bachelor's degree (Business or Supply Chain)
  • 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, accounting or material management
  • Ability to understand and apply basic accounting and financial methods and principles
  • Good computer skills, including excellent spreadsheet skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to occasionally travel (0-5%)
