JOB PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

Evaluate and analyze processes and reports of software systems utilized in the Company’s distributions centers in order to provide opportunities of continuous improvement in warehousing.   Provide project support in analyzing system logistics as they relate to distribution and storage strategies. Support computer software and hardware applications utilized in the Distribution Center. This position reports to the Distribution Warehouse Manager.

70%                             Analysis and Support / SAP Extended Warehouse Management System

 

Provide continuous improvement solutions to optimize material movement and storage solutions supported through system analysis. Identify and investigate opportunities to improve warehousing efficiency utilizing expert knowledge in Receiving, Inventory Management, Picking, and Shipping to transform business requirements into functional solutions.  Utilize WMS system to gather, interpret, and analyze complex data to develop storage strategies and warehouse optimization solutions. Analyze and communicate warehouse capabilities and impact.  Research new WMS and distribution systems to ensure continuous improvement and development are maintained. Provide support in upgrades, problem solving, parameter settings, troubleshooting, training, and interface activities with EWMS and host systems and the coordination of the two systems. Provide support of all computer hardware including PCs, Radio Frequency units, scanners, printers, etc. 

 

15%                             Analysis and Support / Equipment Services

 

Develop and execute the preventative maintenance planning and scheduling strategies for the Equipment Services Group.  Communicate plans and scheduling needs with the manufacturing units. Manage the planning and scheduling team processes.  Develop and track departmental metrics, goals, and objectives. Communicate relevant information to various stakeholders and management.

 

15%                             Miscellaneous

 

Support distribution projects, develop and maintain Power BI reports.  Attend meetings and training as needed.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

2-4 years' related experience

Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Management, Logistics)

            Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED

Occasional travel (0-5%)

Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Experience with SAP Enhanced Warehouse Management Systems (EWM).  Extensive computer skills.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

 

Per 8-hour shift. Sit 7 hours. Stand 1 hour. Typical office environment (low noise level, limited exposure hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations). Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. Infrequently lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently climb stairs, pinch grasp (hold item between index finger & thumb), power pinch grasp (hold item between index finger & thumb and unable to pull item from grasp). Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard.  Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).
