Job Duties:

• Culinary Services - Assist Culinary Services Manager in the daily operations of the culinary department and the culinary staff. Lead the daily operations of the Juice Bar, Deli, Bakery, Pizza, Hot Foods, Soup Bar, Salad Bar, Grab and Go Items and Catering Departments.  Assist with managing inventory by ordering supplies, conducting regular stock checks and minimizing waste through efficient product rotation as directed by the Culinary Services Manager or management team. Assist with developing and maintaining market strategies to increase sales, including promotions, in-store displays, and customer loyalty. Prepare and adjust menu offerings based on seasonality, product that is close to use by date, customer preferences, and profitability analysis. Address and resolve customer complaints regarding products or service, ensuring a positive shopping experience. 
• Supervision - Perform as an acting supervisor during scheduled shifts, ensuring food safety compliance, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Assist in hiring and training new employees on proper food handling techniques, customer service standards and operational procedures.
• Safety - Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify store management. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate management of any items in need of repair. Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Miscellaneous - Report all issues to management.  Look for ways to improve processes and procedures.  Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-4 years related experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 19 years of age

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in retail or grocery industry.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to handle stressful situations. 
• Effective communication skills. Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition and subtraction).  
• Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Serve Safe Certification preferred.
