Job Duties

• Set up, adjust, and operate automatic and CNC lathes.
• Change tooling as needed.
• Operate 1 or 2 machines by self or up to 3 machines with the help of another operator.
• Help solve machining problems related to your machine.
• Inspect parts per print specifications.
• Able to read and change CNC programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Read blueprints, understand basic math (including fractions and decimals), some knowledge of CNC programming and controls.
• Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Per 8 hr. shift (stand/walk up to 8 hrs.) continuously (push/pull), frequently (bend/stoop/twist, move within workspace, work with arms outstretched), occasionally (reach below knee level, torque, reach above shoulder level), and infrequently (climb stairs, squat/kneel/crawl, work above chest level). Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 40 lbs., occasionally from 41 to 50 lbs.). Must be able to hear, see, distinguish colors, use foot to operate foot pedal, and so simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a noisy environment that includes exposure to heat, dust, shavings, vibrations, solvents, coolants, grease, and oil. Must be able to safely work in areas of lift truck traffic. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
