Mfg Engineer II

Job Responsibilities

• Propose improvements to saw and machining operations through manufacturing engineering analysis of existing operations.
• Contribute to the product introduction process. 
• Review production problems as they are identified and implement solutions.
• Develop, implement and update documentation and training.  Contribute to initiatives by other plant functions such as safety, quality, environment, production control, etc., to improve operations.
• Develop reports, project briefings and management presentations.  Perform other duties as assigned.
• Implement new equipment through procurement, installation, capability prove-out, training, process documentation, cost estimating and ramp up. 
• Analyze and diagnose process or quality issues and implement corrective actions, working with both internal and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• A four year Engineering Degree with 2 to 5 years of experience or a two year Engineering Degree with 5 to 10 years of work experience is required.
• Certain technical skills and training such as CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC) may be required.
• Knowledge and experience using Lean tools such as Kaizens, value stream mapping, material flow, standard work, Gemba, 5S and TPM is preferred.
• Experience planning and managing projects are preferred. 
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc., and communicate across all levels of the organization.
