Regional Manager - System Solutions

  • Make sales calls with the branch territory sales people for the purpose of promoting assigned products as well as coaching individual sales people the best methods of communicating product solutions that address potential customer’s material handling problems.  Assist in designing warehouse layouts for accounts when necessary.  Provide training to the field sales force on product features, advantages and benefits, along with competitive product information.  Work in close collaboration with the company’s Branch Management to ensure proper procedures are being followed. Assist Branch Sales Management in identifying specific targeted industry segments and Target accounts.  Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training of Warehouse Solutions Specialist at branches within region.


  • Plan, conduct and participate in sales meetings.  Initiate product review meetings with vendor representatives in conjunction with sales meetings.  May plan account strategy with territory salespeople individually or with other managers.  Confer with manufacturers’ representatives and maintain communications channels with key personnel.  May assist sales people in quote presentation process.  Assist in the preparation of proposals as necessary.  Plan and assist in training of all Warehouse Solutions products to ensure sales force and Warehouse Solutions staff has sufficient product knowledge.


  • Develop opportunities with National Accounts and promote the development with Consultants, Architects, Contractors, Developers, and Real Estate Agents.  May be required to directly handle select national accounts.  Support Crown’s National Accounts Managers, Regional Managers and the Branch General Sales Managers as necessary to ensure continuity of communication within the company.  Responsible for providing ongoing feedback to management regarding current product applications, sales barriers, market pricing points, new market/application trends, opportunities, and competitive information.


  • Participate in customer service for key accounts, complex transactions, irate customers or other extraordinary situations with regard to Warehouse Solutions equipment.


  • May develop and/or oversee marketing and promotional programs such as advertisements, sales contests and equipment mailers.  Participate in legal proceedings.  Interview, research and advise Warehouse Solutions vendors.  Review Warehouse Solutions equipment sales volume and revenue.  Track financial performance of Warehouse Solutions departments in region, identify variances and take appropriate actions.  Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 2-4 years related experience
  • Associate degree (Business)
  • Extensive travel (over 20%)
  • Extensive overnight stays (over 20%)
  • Job requires employee to drive a lift truck
  • Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business > 20% per week (more than 8 hours) and an MVR is required
  • Job may require employee to drive a company vehicle; job is non-DOT regulated and an MVR is required.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Five years of prior experience in sales.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel approximately 60-70% of the time.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes). Experience with AutoCAD. Experience with the Company.
