Business Intelligence Manager for Software Product Development

Job Responsibilities:


Engage with key stakeholders and customers to leverage the InfoLink Product data assets to develop a strategy and plan to implement solutions and capabilities that enable fact-based decisions and actionable insights. Manage a team that uses product data and statistical methods to provide insight into business performance and suggest areas for and methods of improving a customer’s operations and overall user experience. Understand business processes and perform analytics to build reports. Implement analytical approaches and methodologies and interprets results. Manage integrity and quality of data. This position reports to the Director of Software Product Development. Reporting to this position may be roles related to business intelligence development.


  • Business Intelligence Management Responsibilities - Manage a team that uses tools, methodologies, and processes to transform and consolidate large amounts of data into a visual format in the form of dashboards, reports, notifications, or similar capabilities/features to provide actionable insights for the customer. Support the InfoLink Product by identifying opportunities with data, understanding features and capabilities to make recommendations for how to use data to better enable the customer experience and enhance the overall product. Provide technical and operational oversight of the business intelligence team. Work with Architecture team to align and define product data models, structures, and governance standards.
  • Business Intelligence Strategy - Develop, plan and implement a data strategy. Build, enhance, and support data modeling and extraction of data elements from multiple internal sources to meet customer and overall product requirements.  Recommend and develop new metrics that benefit the customer. Interpret and effectively communicate the results of analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences. Design, develop, test, document and maintain reports and dashboards.  Provide expertise on Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools and manage the governance, standards, security of data reporting dashboards for the InfoLink Product. Participate in product thinking, roadmap and feature discussions.
  • Employee Development - Perform duties such as creating/revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and completing annual wage reviews. Responsible for coaching, motivating, mentoring, and developing direct reports to successfully take on additional responsibilities.
  • Miscellaneous - Provide regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting for management. Perform other duties as assigned

Location: This position is based in our New Bremen, Ohio global headquarters with possible option to work occasionally from the Troy, Ohio office. These locations are reasonably close to Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Toledo, and Cleveland.


Remote Work: Crown offers hybrid remote work for this position. A reasonable commute is necessary since some onsite work is required. Relocation assistance available.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, or related field
  • 5 years of related experience (Salary will be commensurate with experience)
  • 2 years of experience in defining analytical project requirements, performing data driven analysis, and developing insight
  • Expert with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Power BI) or equivalent tools and dashboard reporting
  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills, including a detailed working knowledge of business intelligence systems, database tools, and other analytical tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Multitasking skills
  • Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
  • Ability to develop teams and lead people
  • Ability to occasionally travel with overnight stays (0-5%)


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Passion for rigorous analytical techniques and for connecting analytics to business (i.e.: not just what the data shows but why it’s important and what the next steps should be)
