Job Responsibilities:
- Cost System Maintenance and Updates - Collect, maintain, and analyze data, relative to manufacturing, cost, and inventory valuation. Analyze and summarize information and trends in order to establish and explain the differences when setting standards and preparing financial information. Audit bills of materials and routing to ensure proper costing. Recommend cost accounting process and systems changes and coordinate implementation.
- Reporting and Analysis - Prepare and analyze various reports for Company management in the areas of Inventory, Costing, Sales, Process Labor Cost, and manufacturing expense analysis. Examples include reports to track cost variances, inventory adjustments and other cost items such as scrap, shortage, and obsolete inventory. Prepare reports for monthly Manufacturing review meeting. Communicate the results of such information to management and other departments and assist users in understanding and using such reports.
- Engineering Project Costing & Current Truck Costing - Collaborate with Engineering on cost savings projects, calculate, track, analyze and report related costs. Perform periodic current truck cost calculations, analyze fluctuations from prior periods and prepare reports for management.
- Period-End Closings and Budget Assistance - Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for the Cost Accounting Department. Assist in the establishment, maintenance and monitoring of annual material and process cost standards and budgets.
- Miscellaneous - Complete general ledger account and intercompany reconciliations. Know the accounts receivable and accounts payable systems thoroughly in order to perform costing duties and provide departmental back-up support. Work with auditors related to cycle counts and other year-end requests. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years related experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting)
- Working knowledge of Cost Accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. SAP Quote to Cash and SAP Budget to Report experience.
