Job Responsibilities:
- HAZMAT Compliance - Develop and implement policies and procedures for Hazmat/Dangerous Goods programs, including identifying Dangerous Goods in accordance with 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG Code Regulations. This includes monitoring UN classification numbers and creating internal packing, labeling, and shipping instructions. Ensure optimal system and data configurations, input practices, information usage, and maintenance of system data for hazmat parts. Review data that is classified as Hazmat in the current ERP system to ensure data consistency. Develop and implement recordkeeping requirements including a document storage policy as needed.
- DOT Compliance - Develop and Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US state and federal DOT requirements, including Driver Qualification files, Drug and Alcohol Program, Vehicle Inspections, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse, Hours of Service, and the Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) information. Develop and implement recordkeeping requirements including a document storage policy as needed. Obtain necessary permits, registration, or license for Crown’s DOT number as applicable
- Educational Programs - Manage, develop, and maintain all necessary Hazmat & Department of Transportation Compliance educational programs and record keeping requirements as outlined in the applicable regulations.
- Audit Program - Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure effective and consistent implementation of regulatory and internal requirements for all Manufacturing and Retail locations.
- Reporting Metrics - Maintain and develop internal metrics or reports for Hazmat & Department of Transportation programs. Communicate to management as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-4 years related experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business or related field)
- Frequent travel (6-20%)
- Frequent overnight stays (6-20%)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of HAZMAT/DOT experience
- SAP experience
- Must possess excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
