Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Own vision, strategy, and roadmap for the enterprise data platform, aligning with business objectives and manufacturing operations needs.
  • Lead and develop a team of data engineers and platform specialists, fostering technical excellence and innovation.
  • Define platform architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for data management.
  • Understand requirements across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and IT to deliver platform capabilities that drive value.
  • Establish platform KPIs and metrics to measure performance, reliability, cost-efficiency, and business impact.
  • Drive evolution from legacy data systems to a modern, cloud-native data platform.
  • Architect and oversee development of scalable, secure cloud-based data platform using modern technologies and best practices.
  • Design and implement data integration frameworks to extract, transform, and load data from SAP, IFS, Quipware, BAAN, and other enterprise systems.
  • Build robust data pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and cloud-native services for batch and real-time data processing.
  • Establish self-service analytics capabilities, enabling business users to access and analyze data independently.
  • Implement comprehensive data quality, lineage, and observability solutions across platform.
  • Ensure platform security, compliance, and data governance in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the end-to-end data platform infrastructure including ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption layers.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate technologies and tools that enhance platform capabilities (data warehousing, data lakes, orchestration, cataloging, etc.).
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and optimize performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Establish DevOps and DataOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Manage vendor relationships with cloud providers, technology partners, and system integrators.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems and infrastructure.
  • Partner with Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to enable their use cases on the platform.
  • Work with ERP system owners to design optimal data extraction and integration patterns.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, along with at least 8 years of related experience.
    • Non-degree considered if 16+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
  • Occasional Travel (0-5%)

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree is preferred. 10+ years of experience in data platform, data engineering, or related roles, with at least 4 years in leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of building and operating enterprise-scale data platforms in Fabric / Azure for manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Cloud platform certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance frameworks. Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement certifications.

 

A reasonable commute to the New Bremen, OH location is necessary.
