Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the development of IT operating plan, ensuring alignment with the overall IT strategy.
  • Establish a management process and cadence with other IT leaders to track, monitor and manage the successful delivery of the IT operating plan. 
  • Ensure a clear and transparent picture of how IT is performing through the creation and updating of IT performance dashboards. 
  • Drive focus and prioritization within the IT organization through establishing strategic planning and governance principles and processes.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance models as well as performance management frameworks and metrics to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the enterprise.
  • Partner with IT leaders and other key stakeholders to mature the IT operating model to enable stronger business partnership that result in increased value from investments in technology solutions. 
  • Oversee on-going maturity efforts across all IT domains and promote a culture that establishes and implements continuous improvement programs for the IT organization.
  • Direct the preparation, review and consolidation of business plans and budgets for the IT organization.
  • Develop and manage strategic vendor partnerships.
  • Oversee workforce strategy development and management, including the sourcing, training and development of staff. 
  • Drive and facilitate effective collaboration and communication between the IT organization and the user community. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or System Analysis, along with at least 16 years of related experience.
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in IT and business/industry.
  • Experience in business/industry (beyond IT), managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capability with proven track record of successful team development and working effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Experience in budget planning, financial management and workforce management.
  • Proven track record of innovation, both in internal problem solving and in fostering innovative uses of technology in the organization.
  • Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IT organization.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
  • Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
  • Expert in IT strategic planning, IT governance formulation, and organizational change management.
  • Strong customer and user experience focus.
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of activities without losing focus.
