Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop, review, and update various compliance-related policies, procedures, forms, and guidelines.  Execute annual training calendars and ensure training is completed by appropriate personnel with respect to the Code of Conduct and other compliance-related topics, including anti-bribery, antitrust, and conflict of interest. Conduct and oversee compliance training, including online and in-person training.  Collaborate with Human Resources to review and improve online training materials. Assist with disclosures of non-compliance made under Company policies and manage/help remedy overdue trainings.  Assist with and support the Company’s whistleblower hotline (working closely with Internal Audit on the topic).  Contribute to Company’s dealer diligence policy and other third-party risk management policies and practices.  Create and manage quarterly compliance surveys that are distributed throughout the organization with respect to critical compliance topics.  Monitor developments in applicable laws and regulations and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure compliance. Develop risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Evaluate and implement changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Establish communication that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements.  Assist with internal investigations relating to compliance-related topics.  Conduct and manage annual compliance risk assessments, including without limitation, review and implementation of internal controls that can prevent and detect significant instances of unethical or improper conduct by employees and third parties.  Perform compliance-specific audits.  Collaborate with the CCO to engage outside consultants and law firms to assist with compliance-related efforts such as reviewing and auditing compliance with environmental, safety, labor, trade, and other laws and regulations. 
  • Participate in compliance subcommittees, including Environmental, Health and Safety, Labor/Employment, Data Privacy and Trade Compliance.  Manage Company’s compliance calendar.  Assist with Compliance and Ethics monthly meeting agendas.  Manage Compliance and Ethics intranet page, assist with implementation of a global Compliance and Ethics site, and promote compliance and ethics topics in company newsletters, intranet banners and through other means.  Evaluate and implement compliance tools and systems (including working with company’s IT Enterprise Architects).  Communicate with and be the Compliance and Ethics point of contact for personnel in Brazil, Mexico and China.  Assist as a liaison with company’s Trade Compliance organization.  Assist Law Department in negotiating compliance-related topics in legal agreements with customers, vendors, and other third parties.  Cooperate with a cross-functional team to update document retention policy.  Communicate with and work closely with other Compliance and Ethics personnel – both across regions and across functions.
  • Provide support to EHS organization for certain facilities to ensure compliance with applicable EHS laws and regulations, industry standards, and policies and procedures.  Support the EHS team in implementing corrective actions. Stay abreast with new and changing laws, regulations, and current events applicable to EHS activities and obligations at certain facilities. Perform EHS compliance risk assessments and audits at certain facilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • 8-15 years related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Environmental Health Science, Compliance)
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)
  • Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
  • Valid passport

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Broad knowledge of compliance and business, generally. Juris Doctor and a professional compliance certification. 
  • Knowledgeable on issues of anti-bribery/anticorruption, compliance risk management, compliance risk mitigation and compliance evaluation regarding third-party risks. 
  • Compliance functional experience to include:  Code of Conduct, polices/procedures, training, investigations and compliance risk assessments. Robust understanding of United States laws and regulations related to EHS and how they apply to industrial environments.
  • Experience in navigating EHS-related legal and compliance matters. Experience managing environmental compliance tasks.
