Distribution System Specialist

JOB PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Responsible for supporting the computer software and hardware applications utilized in the
Distribution Center.  Provide support in upgrades, problem solving, parameter settings, troubleshooting, training and interface activities in reference to the Warehouse Management System (WMS), host system, Mapper, Excel, Word, etc.  Provide opportunities of continuous improvement by reviewing processes and reports in the software systems.  Provide project support in system logistics as they relate to Distribution.  This position reports to the Distribution Warehouse Manager.

OF TIME             KEY TASKS

70%                    Warehouse Management System Support

Provide support in upgrades, problem solving, parameter settings, troubleshooting training and interface activities with WMS and host systems and the coordination of the two systems.  Provide expertise with other software applications utilized in the distribution operation such as Mapper, Excel, Word, etc.  Provide support of all computer hardware including PCs, Radio Frequency units, scanners, printers, etc.  Research new WMS and distribution systems to ensure continuous improvement and development are attained.

15%                    Documentation

Provide and maintain documentation to support processes as they relate to WMS, host system, the interface, Mapper, Excel, Word, etc.  Assist other distribution positions in creating and optimizing measurement reports. 

15%                    Miscellaneous

Support distribution projects, provide backup for other distribution positions.  Attend meetings and training as needed.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

0-4 years related experience

Associate Degree in Computer Systems or Supply Chain/Materials

            Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED

Occasional travel (0-5%)

Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

SAP Warehouse Management System.  Extensive computer skills.
