Responsibilities

 

  • Create personalized road system, traffic management rules and the navigation map required for an automation solution to safely navigate a customer facility.
  • Bridge the gap between the customer requirements and the technology resources to effectively deliver on the defined project scope.
  • Ensure the successful installation and ongoing support of the automated production solution.
  • Collaborate during the Solution Definition phase of the project and create two-dimensional computer-aided (CAD) files for the customer to review/accept.
  • Support and participate in the site survey and point cloud gathering process; combine the two and three-dimensional (point cloud) imagery to assist in determining the space required for the automated guided vehicle (AGV) road system.
  • Incorporate this data into a Road System proposal.
  • Work at the customer site to implement/refine/validate the actual Road System.
  • Work directly with the Software Engineer to incorporate blocking, itinerary checks, decision points, order and vehicle priorities.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • 2-4 years' related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering)
  • Extensive Travel (over 20%)
  • Extensive overnight stays (over 20%)
  • Job requires employee to drive a lift truck
  • Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday
  • Must be within one hour of a major airport

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in trouble shooting technical challenges.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Possess AutoCAD and basic SQL database knowledge.
