Freight Invoicing Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensure efficient processing of carrier invoices with timely resolution of any carrier/internal discrepancies.
  • Audit Freight Invoices – Receive, audit, and approve/code for payment freight invoices from assigned carriers on a daily basis. Freight invoices include electronic submissions for North American Manufacturing and Sales over the road, intermodal, small parcel, and international ocean/air shipments. Collaborate with Crown Logistics Analyst, Domestic and International Planners, and Accounts Payable as needed. Communicate directly with carriers on invoice discrepancies and incomplete or missing supporting documentation. Review carrier aging report, process aged invoices, correct as needed, and fix the root cause. Process overcharge claims. Ensure correct customer billing. Interpret carrier tariffs and contracts. Verify correct bases rates, freight class, and discounts have been applied.
  • Reporting of Spend and Savings - Track spend and savings associated with the audit process. Prepare and maintain reports to present findings to upper management upon request.
  • Tariffs and Rate Structures - Work in partnership with Crown Global Business Systems team to load and maintain applicable tariffs and rate structures in the Crown 360 (SAP) Transportations Management System.
  • Perform other duties as required. Assist Hazmat/DOT team with data entry and item master information.




  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with additional coursework preferred
  • Good computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SAP, Baan, and Mapper preferred
  • Detail oriented with strong numerical perception
  • Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
