RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to perform complex maintenance related tasks. Understands the proper technical requirements and methods needed to complete these tasks. Is considered proficient in all related areas of maintenance. Can assess the quality of work done by others and verify that all technical requirements and applicable standards are being met.
  • Ability to lead medium to large projects. Can oversee the work of others and provide technical support and guidance. Able to give feedback regarding quality of work and level of productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills amongst peers and external contacts. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization. Can serve as a spokesperson for the department.
  • Communicates with others in a positive and effective manner. Displays effective listening skills and can work with others to find mutually agreeable solutions. Can work with others to identify, define and solve problems.
  • Proven ability to analyze a situation and make sound decisions.
  • Provides direction and gives job assignments. Is organized, takes responsibility, and leads by example.
  • Oversee assigned maintenance personnel in daily maintenance tasks. Organize, plan, and assign work orders.  Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plant and office facility electrical systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair related wiring or plumbing for hoist systems.
  • Fill out necessary inspection forms and work orders.
  • Find, order, or make parts required to fix problems.
  • Install and maintain all plant mechanical, electrical, plumbing and hoist equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Lead the team on all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.  Report unsafe conditions and do not perform unsafe acts.
  • This position requires a high school diploma.
  • Must be able to read and understand electric, plumbing, and building prints and diagrams.
  • Electrical Journeyperson certification or equivalent formal training through an accredited training agency preferred, or a minimum (4) years’ experience (with references) in the Electrical/Mechanical/Hoist or related trades field.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
