Responsibilities:
- This position will have process responsibility for the assembly of drive units and the remanufacturing program for these products.
- This position has a strong emphasis on new product introduction, as well as providing plant support for drive unit manufacturing.
- A strong “hands on” ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes is essential for this role.
- Experience of machined components, gears, and automated assembly processes is desired, as well as Lean and Six Sigma project leadership.
- Process leadership for drive unit manufacturing, driving to improve existing operations for safety, quality, cost and delivery improvements.
- Implementation of new processes, including equipment specification, procurement, coordination of installation, process capability, training, process documentation and production startup.
- Assist is product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process development, and prototype manufacture
- Direct production departments using root cause analysis to identify and eliminate production opportunities.
- Develop training and be able to support other plant initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
- 16+ years related experience
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must have valid driving privileges
- Occasional travel (0-5%)
- Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certain technical skills and training such as CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC) may be required.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc., and communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to lead cross-functional teams and manage small to medium projects.
- Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to support and mentor Process Technicians, Supervisors, and others.
