Manufacturing Engineer II

Responsibilities:

 

  • Process responsibility for the assembly of drive units and the remanufacturing program for these products.
  • A strong emphasis on the introduction of new product/process introduction, as well as providing plant support for drive unit assembly and automated assembly functions.
  • A strong hands-on ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of automated assembly processes is desired, as well as Lean and Six Sigma project leadership.
  • Process leadership for drive unit manufacturing, driving to improve existing operations for safety, quality, cost and delivery improvements.
  • Implementation of new processes, including equipment specification, procurement, coordination of installation, process capability, training, process documentation and production startup.
  • Assist and/or lead product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process development, and prototype manufacturing.
  • Support/optimize assembly production using root cause analysis to identify and eliminate production opportunities.
  • Develop operator training and be able to support other plant initiatives as required.

 

Qualifications: 

       

  • High School graduate or equivalent; with 16+ years of related experience
  • Must have valid driving privileges
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)
  • Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering related field.
  • Certain technical skills and training such as CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC). 
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc., and communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to lead cross-functional teams and manage small to medium projects.
  • Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to support and mentor Process Technicians, Supervisors, and others.
  • Experience with pressure decay/differential pressure testing and NVH testing equipment.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI and control programming/troubleshooting.
