 The Modern Aboriginal Art Museum will feature one of the largest collections of contemporary Aboriginal art in North America. Aboriginal art is deeply connected to the lands and culture of Australia, where Crown first expanded its lift truck business globally more than 60 years ago. As the primary exhibit in the museum, the Aboriginal art collection will feature more than 100 contemporary paintings and sculptures, each telling a distinct story and offering insight into the perspectives, symbolism, and creativity of Aboriginal artists today.

Job Duties

  • Archive Materials in Museum - Archive incoming museum objects, books, pictures, articles and periodicals, which includes: scanning documents and/or receipts along with data entry of relevant information into database.  
  • Update Museum Displays - Responsible for keeping all displays looking new and fresh.
  • Conduct Museum Tours - Greet patrons, take admission money, and guide patrons throughout the museum sharing information of the history of each display.
  • Research - Perform patron research inquiries pertaining to bicycles.  Build upon previous knowledge of museum objects through research and adding information to object files.
  • Special Projects - Work closely with Administration on special projects as needed.
  • Miscellaneous - Perform other duties as assigned as well as any additional duties that might arise in the daily routine consisting of cleaning, packing and unpacking materials.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Less than 2 years related experience 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Very little to no travel
  • Overnight stays unlikely
  • Job may require employee to drive a company vehicle; job is non-DOT regulated and an MVR is required
  • Per 8-hour shift. Sit 4 hours. Stand 4 hours. Typical office environment (low noise level, limited exposure hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations). Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. Infrequently lift up to 20 pounds. Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard.  Infrequent lifting, walking and climbing stairs.  Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of counting money and making change. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
