Plant Manager - Plant 4

Job Duties

  • Coordinate Plant 4 operations, communicate objectives, identify measurements and take necessary action to assure performance goals are being met, including on time shipment of components and trucks, meeting production schedules, cost of sales, inventory, and productivity goals.  Responsible for developing and monitoring current process costs, estimate future process costs, operating and capital budgets.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of people, processes, tools, information, and communication.  Assist managers in developing plans and goals focused toward achieving corporate initiatives.  Ensure recording of interruptions and execute immediate and long-term corrective actions. Ensure the team understands and ask the fundamental question, “Is the process running as designed” while encouraging continues improvement.
  • Perform “Gemba” walks with the Managers that drive continuous improvement of the process through coaching.  Ensure that similar “Gemba” walks occur throughout all levels of the operation. Encourages consistent clear expectations.  
  • Lead the effective implementation of Crown safety, and environmental practices and quality systems.  Create the culture of safety first, in all aspects of Plant 4 operations.  Monitor quality and warranty claims and take necessary action to assure appropriate level of quality in products and components shipped. 
  • Conduct Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and completing annual wage reviews.  Ensure that all employees are provided with the proper training and motivation to be successful at meeting all company expectations.
  • Oversee the placing, transferring, promoting, and training of departmental personnel.  Direct and oversee the departmental approval process for payroll and accident reports. Direct the handling of problem employees and work with HR to take proper disciplinary action. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with eight to fifteen years of management experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business. 
  • Prior management experience.
  • Strong understanding and previous operational experience in lean six sigma methodologies. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on all areas of communication and presenting. 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.  
  • Good computer skills.
