Product Lead - Software Product Development

Job Responsibilities:


Lead or participate in the creation and ongoing development of global product vision, strategy, and roadmap to provide valuable and viable solutions to customers.  Create consensus for product vision within Product Development and with key stakeholders.  This position will be assigned projects and will lead cross-functionally to solve problems that span multiple departments.


  • Product and Technology Champion - Promote the organization’s solutions.  Perform field research to ensure industry awareness of products and services.  Work closely with Crown InfoLink Sales, Service, and Product Development to develop and refine product features.  Engage in frequent customer visits to understand customer needs and consider new, innovative solutions.  Work with Product Leads to capture detailed, crisp business requirements which can be turned into Agile user stories.  Work in close collaboration with the development team(s) to ensure developed products meet functional business requirements.  Partner with the UX Design team to utilize prototypes for hypothesis validation.  Ensure solutions consider marketing, sales, support, training, and global constraints.  Proactively gather data analytics from other internal resources that support the team’s recommendations.
  • Project Planning and Technical Review - Lead the definition and management of high-quality product roadmaps in alignment with the company’s strategic vision.  Participate in the balance of continuous improvement versus new product development for feature enhancements or new features.  Participate in the prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance, and operational support burden.  Adhere to Engineering’s Product Development Processes which include intentional field testing.
  • Communication and Leadership - Communicate project and product status to interested parties, including management. Work with applicable developers, product leads, stakeholders, and others to generate product and project consensus.  Clearly articulate value propositions via formal presentations to management and partners.  Embrace and promote company and department principles.
  • Organizational Development and Miscellaneous - Continue to refine skills and knowledge. May mentor other Product Leads. Contribute product and practice knowledge within other team members for the advancement of the department. Perform other duties as assigned.

Remote Work: Crown offers hybrid remote work for this position. A reasonable commute is necessary since some onsite work is required.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Associate degree in Product Engineering, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • Good organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen and understand what the business segments are requesting to convey a clear understanding to the development team
  • Ability to frequently travel with overnight stays (6-20%)
  • Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Two or more years of related experience (Salary will be commensurate with experience)
  • Bachelor degree in related field
  • Knowledgeable about agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Experience working in an agile software environment and new product development
  • Experience working effectively with stakeholders across many departments or functions
  • Ability to create effective formal presentations
  • Passionate about creating innovative solutions for customers and business objectives
