Responsibilities

 

  • Administer, evaluate, interpret, modify, and communicate all facets of the Company retirement plans. 
  • Responsible for the primary administration and regulatory compliance of the Company’s Pension Plan and 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan. 
  • Serve as a principal contact for plan participants. 
  • Monitor and maintain all administrative functions of the Pension Plan, including the calculation and/or verification of various forms of retirement benefits and all associated follow-up and recordkeeping requirements for participants and beneficiaries.
  • Work directly with Benefit Department personnel, other Company Departments, the Pension Plan Actuary, Plan Trustee, and outside legal consultants to actively monitor plan compliance.  Assist in the planning, development and implementation of new and modified administrative programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain all files and documentation related to the Pension Plan.  Directly assist employees with questions and activities involving the Plan, and assist with the development and distribution of employee communication materials in various formats, as required.
  • Provide leadership and assistance in the development and communication of Plan Documents, Plan Amendments, and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) as necessary.
  • Coordinate special projects with consultants and vendors as needed. 
  • Prepare Plan reports and analyses, and make recommendations to Company management. Perform all related activities and communication involving annual audits, and year-end processes. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • 0-4 years related experience
  • Associate degree

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

This position requires completion of post-high school degree, preferably in Human Resources or a field related to finance, investments or accounting, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on administrative experience with Pension Plans and/or 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans.  Must have a demonstrated knowledge of ERISA and other compliance regulations pertaining to retirement plans.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills.  Must have good organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, along with excellent keyboarding skills and intermediate-level proficiency and expertise with Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
