Senior Inventory Control Specialist Maintenance

  • Lead the monitoring and adjusting of repair part inventory levels, invoice approvals and budget control. 
  • Lead the placement of requisitions and purchase orders, expediting parts, and communicating delivery time frame to maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor the purchasing/negotiation functions related to equipment services repair parts and services through the use of the Infor EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) computer system.
  • Monitor and manage the expediting repair parts and/or services needed per machine failure to minimize downtime and costs.
  • Review and understand monthly and yearly parts/services budgets in order to perform and interpret risk analysis results
  • Identify and lead projects using lean processes to identify waste and drive improvements
  • Collaborate with the Equipment Service Technicians, engineering, and supervisors on part identification and usage.
  • Place requisitions, purchase orders, amend current purchase orders by changing dates, amounts or cancel existing orders to support the needs of Equipment Service department.
  • Identify the stock items that need to have min/max levels and order quantities established and/or adjusted. Establish a 2nd and 3rd supplier base when applicable. 
  • Determine if parts need to be inventoried. 
  • Search for best price and service. 
  • Negotiate with supplier for best price break and delivery available. 
  • Follow up on late or incorrect deliveries. 
  • This position reports to Manager of Manufacturing Services.
  • Reporting to this position are Inventory Control Specialist(s).
  • Provide direction and supervise the Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Perform duties such as creating/revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and assist in completing annual wage reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • 5-7 years related experience. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)
  • Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
  • Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business.
  • APIC Certification
  • Ability to lead the discussion, meeting, projects, etc., and communicate with internal and external customers. Experience with machine repair environments is highly desired. 
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communications skills, with a commonsense approach, are also desired.
