Job Duties

  • Load and/or unload lift trucks according to the bills of lading.
  • Load and/or unload lumber deliveries.
  • Use a sit down or stand-up lift truck to load and/or unload lift trucks, service parts, crates, and raw materials according to bills of lading.
  • Pack parts and skid lift trucks using radial arm saw, table saw and pneumatic nail and screw guns.
  • Band parts with plastic or steel banding.
  • Prepare necessary shipping/packing slips for lift trucks and parts to ensure safe delivery.
  • Build pallets out of wood.
  • Crate items onto built or purchased pallets.
  • Lay over lift trucks.
  • Load and secure products on ocean containers, trucks, trailers, and flatbeds for safe delivery to the proper destination.
  • Secure dock plate and safely operate safety gates.
  • Use webbing and rigging to lay over lift trucks.
  • Weigh parts and lift trucks for proper shipping documentation.
  • Use propane torch to apply poly film to trucks prior to shipping.
  • Perform touch up painting on lift trucks as required.
  • Use computer to perform tasks in ERP system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas (5S).
  • Comply with all applicable occupational Environmental, Health, and Safety standards, as well as Crown’s safety rules and regulations for each task performed. To prevent the risk of injury, report unsafe conditions and do not perform unsafe acts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required 
  • Per 8 hr. shift (walk 4 hrs., stand 4 hrs.), continuously bending, frequently (squat/kneel/crawl, climb to step into lift trucks, reach above shoulder level, reach below knee level, and push/pull). Occasionally (work with arms outstretched and torque), Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 50 lbs.). Must be able to see, hear, read, talk, have good binocular vision, use feet to operate foot pedals, and do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a noisy environment that includes exposure to vibration, outdoor and indoor temperatures, battery acid, soot, solvents, and oil.  Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Read and complete bills of lading, read and remember lift truck and part numbers, read tape measure, basic computer skills, basic construction knowledge, basic math, count, reason and analyze.
