Job Responsibilities:

 

Manage the Product Development Process (PDP) for specifically assigned software product development projects including new market entries, system upgrades, and redesigns. Oversee and manage agile projects including planning, monitoring and reporting within the Product Development organization. Adhere to and develop the standard set of processes and practices based on industry standard best practices to ensure the integrity and quality of project artifacts and deliverables. Work closely with Product Development’s Program Management group.

 

  • Project Management - Create project charters, budgets, and project plans which define high level objectives, document technical skills required, and project timelines. Establish milestones to measure project progress. Manage scope as new opportunities are identified. Ensure the most valued work remains at the top of the project backlog. Identify, manage, and communicate when a project needs to run beyond its planned end date or is in jeopardy of not meeting essential objectives.  Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path elements. Minimize project risks. Manage multiple projects in a program as one larger unit.
  • Reporting - Provide project dashboards and status reports to key stakeholders. Monitor and report on progress of the project to management and stakeholders. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Report on project progress, offer viable solutions and opportunities. 
  • Leadership and Communication - Coordinate and communicate with peers to ensure projects are successful and timely. Actively participate in presentations to department and business leaders to communicate project schedules.
  • Organizational Development - Continue to refine skills and knowledge. Upon project and sprint completion, conduct project/sprint retrospectives to identify successful and unsuccessful process elements. Collaborate with other department leaders to use the findings to improve the department’s delivery record. Participate in the assessment and development of best-in-class Product Development Processes and deploy into the organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: This position is based in our New Bremen, Ohio global headquarters with possible option to work occasionally from the Troy, Ohio office. These locations are reasonably close to Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Toledo, and Cleveland.

 

Remote Work: Crown offers hybrid remote work for this position. A reasonable commute is necessary since some onsite work is required. Relocation assistance available.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (or compensating experience)
  • Five or more years of related experience (Salary will be commensurate with experience)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel occasionally with overnight stays (0-5%)
  • Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledgeable about agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Experience working in an agile software environment and new product development
  • Scrum Master and Kanban Practitioner certified (or willing to obtain these certifications)
