The Bicycle Museum of America, located in the historic downtown area of New Bremen, Ohio, is a local tourist attraction featuring one of the largest private bicycle memorabilia collections in the world. With more than 300 bicycles in store, and thousands more in rotating inventory, the museum has something new to inform and entertain every bicycle enthusiast.

 

Job Duties

  • ·         Operation of Projection Equipment - Operate all theater equipment, which may include troubleshooting.
  • ·         Ticket Sales - Administer ticket sales, usher customers to seats as needed, monitor the theater, assist customers with questions, answer phone calls etc.
  • ·      Concessions - Monitor sales, serve concessions, and keep concessions clean and stocked.
  • ·         Maintenance - Maintain the appearance of the theater. Light cleaning of the theater after shows, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash. Clean restrooms during and after shows. Update upcoming movie on outdoor sign.
  • ·         Miscellaneous - Address any disturbances in the theater. Count and close out money in the register. Assist with delivery of advertisement. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • ·         Less than 2 years related experience
  • ·         Less than high school graduate
  • ·         Very little to no travel
  • ·         Overnight stays unlikely
  • ·         Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday
  • ·         Per 8-hour shift. Sit 2 hours. Stand 6 hours. Both typical and non-typical office environment (Low to moderate noise level, low exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations.) Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. (Regular interaction with other staff and/or customers via written and oral communication methods.) Continuously bend/stoop/twist (greater than 30 degrees), pinch grasp (hold item between index finger and thumb), power pinch grasp (hold item between index finger and thumb and unable to pull item from grasp), work with arms outstretched (elbows locked). Frequently lift up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Frequently bend/stoop/twist (greater than 90 degrees), climb stairs, power pinch grasp (hold item between index finger and thumb and unable to pull item from grasp), torque (twisting force to rotate), and work above chest level.

Preferred Qualification

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, count money and make change. Some mechanical aptitude. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

 

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits are not applicable to part-time positions.
