Job Duties
- Expedite repair parts or services needed per machine failure. Collaborate with Technicians and Supervisors on part identification and usage. Place requisitions, purchase orders, amend current purchase orders by changing dates, amounts or cancel existing orders to support the needs of the department. Determine if parts need to be inventoried. Search for best price and service. Work with corporate purchasing and negotiate with supplier for best price break and delivery available. Follow up on late or incorrect deliveries. Use approved suppliers were prudent and possible to do so.
- Approve or disapprove invoices for repair and/or services. Communicate weekly with accounting to establish identification on repair charges. Monitor daily charges to the maintenance account and scan for non-department charges.
- Monitor usage of repair parts. Identify the items that need to have min/max and minimum order quantities established. Establish a 2nd and 3rd supplier when applicable.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on all suppliers, vendors, and repair organizations. This would include primary contacts, phone/fax numbers, websites, warranties, etc. Participate in departmental meetings, as well as supplier meetings both at the company and the supplier. Attend seminars and tour supplier facilities as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-4 years related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Occasional travel (0-5%)
- Overnight stays unlikely
- Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
- Per 8-10-hour shift. Sit 5 hours. Stand 5 hours. Both typical and non-typical office environment (Low to moderate noise level, low exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations.) Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Physical and mental demands are skin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of computer/keyboard. Infrequent lifting, walking, and climbing stairs. Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business. APIC Certification.
- Ability to lead the discussion, meeting, projects, etc., and communicate with internal and external customers.
- Experience with maintenance and/or machine repair environments.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, math and communications skills (both written and verbal).
