Quality Technician

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with Quality metrics recording and reporting, evaluation of nonconforming product, control plan development or modification, Quality Alert development and issuing, gage instruction development, Tier meeting support, Core team support, Layered Process Audit system support, statistical analysis support, Supplier Quality issues, and assist the Quality Engineers as required.  Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure that the processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained.  Report to management the performance of the quality management system within the unit and the need for improvement through Internal Audits and Management Reviews.  Maintain revision history of and/or development of needed procedures, work instructions, forms and records.  Oversee and coordinate the following activities: document control, internal audits, Management Review, and on-going system improvements. 
  • Administer QMS training at new hire orientation or other settings to ensure the compliance of all personnel to the QMS processes.

 

Qualifications

 

  • This position requires an Associate Degree along with two years’ experience in production or quality, along with ISO9001:2015 application knowledge/experience.  Working knowledge of advanced mathematics, including statistical techniques, SPC, Capability Analysis and Gage R&R.  Good problem solving skills are important. Must know basic inspection concepts, how to read blueprints and GD&T information.  Good computer skills are needed.  The incumbent must have good communication skills, both verbal and written as well as interpersonal skills.  Must possess the ability to work effectively and maintain a professional composure with other employees.
