Manufacturing Engineer - Injection Molding

Responsibilities

  • Process responsibility for injection molding operations, and associated secondary operations (marking, assembly etc).
  • Strong emphasis on new product introduction, as well as providing plant support for plastics injection molding.
  • Process leadership for plastics manufacturing, driving to improve existing operations for safety, quality, cost and delivery improvements.
  • Implementation of new processes, including equipment specification, procurement, coordination of installation, process capability, training, process documentation and production startup.
  • Assist in product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process development, and prototype manufacture.
  • Direct production departments using root cause analysis to identify and eliminate production issues.
  • Use Lean Manufacturing analysis and techniques to improve flow, quality and operator engagement.
  • Develop, training and be able to support other plant initiatives as required.
  • Implement and support drive to automate injection molding processes.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 16+ years related experience
  • Must have valid driving privileges
  • Must have strong hands on ability to troubleshoot injection molding processes
  • Preferred RGJ certification and experience of scientific molding.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc., and communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to lead cross-functional teams and manage small to medium projects.
  • Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to support and mentor Process Technicians, Supervisors and others.
