Responsibilities

  • Quality Engineer II (assembly environment)
  • Provide direction to assembly Quality Technician
  • Provide process efficiency and suitability analysis to manufacturing engineering and production management. 
  • Use the Warranty and NCP system for review and management of defective product.   
  • Support the use of statistics for product improvement and process control (CP, Cpk, SPC). 
  • Drive corrective action providing data and Pareto analysis of problem parts and processes. 
  • Participate in product development team efforts on areas involving product quality assurance support. 
  • Provide ongoing product, process, equipment and method creation/revision input to owners of management system (TMS) element for inclusion in system documentation. 
  • Assist Quality Manager with supplier quality interactions, which could include some travel (<10%/month).
    • Manage sort activities (supply chain or 3rd party providers)
    • Identify, communicate and process CPPAS submissions
  • Provide support to plant Sourcing Specialist as required

 

Qualifications

  • This position requires a four-year college degree plus 5 years’ experience.  ASQ (or equivalent); Certified Quality Engineer and Six Sigma Green Belt highly desired. 
  • Excellent computer literacy, word processing skills (MS Word) and spreadsheet skills (MS Excel) is needed for this position.  Knowledge of SPC data collection systems (ASI Datamyte) is desired.
  • Certain technical skills and training, such as quality tools and techniques, advanced geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) desired, process capability theory are required. 
  • Solid understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001 system requirements are highly desired.

 

The incumbent should have good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people and the personal drive/sense of urgency necessary to provide needed support in the time frames demanded.
